How it works
Your series begins with a 60-minute Coaching Consultation in your home, where your dog actually lives. From there you have five 45-minute private coaching sessions at an agreed-upon location, so practice can happen in the places that matter for your dog’s goals.
Between sessions you have a concise personalized training plan, selected resources, up to three video reviews with feedback and brief email support, so you always know what to work on at home.
What this series can cover
Your plan is unique to your dog, your household, and your goals. Support may include:
- Puppy foundations and new-dog transitions
- Housetraining, crate training, biting, and chewing
- Everyday manners and calm behavior
- Leash skills and attention around distractions
- Canine communication and body language
- Canine Good Citizen preparation
Where it takes place
In-home coaching is available in Northwest Washington, DC, Chevy Chase and Silver Spring, Maryland, and by arrangement in Bethesda, Maryland and Arlington, Virginia (or across the Key Bridge in Georgetown). Will you train my dog for me?
Affinity is a coaching-based service. I work with you and your dog, together. Your plan will help you understand what to do, why it matters, and how to continue making progress between sessions.
Can you guarantee results?
No ethical trainer can guarantee a specific result. Progress depends on lots of factors (dog’s age, health, temperament, history, environment, and the consistency with which the training and management recommendations are applied). While Affinity provides individualized guidance and support to help you make meaningful progress, results will ultimately depend on the dog and the consistency of training application.
