Who it’s best for

Dog owners seeking help with a specific concern, a professional assessment and starting plan, or guidance they can implement independently without committing to a longer coaching series.

How it works

Before we meet, I review your intake information so the session starts with your dog’s real situation. During the 60 minutes in your home I observe your dog’s behavior, environment, and routines, then coach you and your dog together on practical techniques you can start using right away.

You leave with a written action plan that sets priorities and next steps, selected resources for your dog’s needs, and two weeks of brief email support while you put the plan into practice.

Where it takes place

In-home coaching is available in Northwest Washington, DC, Chevy Chase and Silver Spring, Maryland, and by arrangement in Bethesda, Maryland and Arlington, Virginia (or across the Key Bridge in Georgetown). Other locations may be considered based on travel time and availability. Not sure you are in range? See the service area, or consider a virtual consultation.

Common questions

Will you train my dog for me?

Affinity is a coaching-based service. I work with you and your dog, together. Your plan will help you understand what to do, why it matters, and how to continue making progress between sessions.

What training methods do you use?

We always begin with the most humane approach likely to be effective and consider the needs of the dog, the owner, and the situation. My focus is on solutions that fit real life and the dog you have in front of you.
